17.5.16 Suspence

Many videos I never hear or seen before.

The suspense of the videos is to make you feel (pain but bringing nervous to your  mind and playing with you mentally.

The mood is tensed and can be relax by breathing normally and the characters can show how weird scary it is or not.

December

• dark and less light - make to look (what's is it about?)
• characters - close and serious
• on the ground - laying on side
• being pulled and throw into the back of a truck
• roped over 
• dark setting of old house
• sound of the saw
• again with moving the camera
• in a warm place and children running happy - which change the mood

Rear Window

• character been valuable - (he is in a wheelchair and his leg is up and banaged)
• dark room
• characters getting serious and worried
• the door (underneath lights on) 
• lights off and still less light
• door opens but still dark
• goes back to the character and to the other one
• voice (scared but asking questions)
• silence
• closer and closer
• other characters on the run to help
• Flash
• the circle around the bad characters eyes when blinking
• orange colour

Munich

• camera being close and far
• making sure the right people are out of the house 
• audience knows what's going on but not the characters
• we know the bomb is made and connect to the phone 
• daylight and within the buildings
• dark lights for making the bomb
• truck 
• the little girl in red - we will worry for her safety
• silence
• dropping the phone
• characters - nervous and serious
• the guys running to car
• clothes are dark too 

No Country for old men

• colours brown and yellow
• shadows alot
• character being a bit tight
• room being a bit dark
• door and character
• guy ready if they came in
• go out the window
• running
• close view and far
• the background of the guy running is close while the background is a bit fizz out a bit - so it looks like they use zoom out while he was in
• wide space - empty street and night 
• breathing hard - scared and then softer - calm and back to earth
• right to the point with shooting at the driver 
• glass being shot at - for me I think they add a clear sticker to the glass and when someone else (crew) press the button at that time it will break (glass)

The Hunt locker

• environment - old and broken buildings
• characters - tight and nervous
• camera shake
• two screens being cut - parallel cut
• audio - three things going on at same time but some are quiet than most (breathing, running on stairs and background)

Diegetic - sound that we can hear and the characters too (everyday sounds outside and in

Internal diegetic - sound only the character can hear in their minds

Non diegetic - sound effect, music 

Dutch Tilt 

Why they use this method in some movies - give tension and make you uneasy and think more.

Here is my outtake video that I did for Akiba Con it's not my practise one but just I watch Back to the future when I edit this and it didn't go on my laptop so I just remade and made sure it was right in the media encoding, however I notice a lot of mistakes I did in that video not this one well I guess there a lot in this one too mistakes but I learn how to work the camera and the mic and recorder.  

My mistakes for using the camera as practise

• my brother didn't know how to use it
• I have to stay away from the frame when shooting something else
• I wasn't in middle frame
• not much light going in
• check the framing and lighting on the camera
• sounding of mic was in right volume
• did retakes - myself

I keep the recorder and video on until we came out of the building.

 Was going to be my 7 mins video, Pokemon challenge that was in the city but it's already past. Was going to the spca and interview with them and animals but a bit far and got to ask if I can video in there, so I was going to interview me with my children (pets) and other people I know who has pets now I'm not sure.

I did have questions if I did the interview

1. When you got your pet is there a story behind them?
2. What is the weird thing they have ever done?

Watching Maleficent, I found a suspense within it - its when Maleficent's shadow appears and music plays and she enters the castle and everyone gasps.
